The left side of a plane is the mirror image of its right side. As a result of this vertical symmetry, a plane's body is proportional and balanced. This makes it an interesting machine to watch during landing and taking off, in addition to the doppler effect of the sound of its engines.
Notice that once the motors of a plane reach their top speed, they produce a constant sound, and the changing tone you hear is the result of the doppler effect.
